Customer service
How to talk to us
A small office, real people on the phone, and a written response to every enquiry. Here is how the process actually works.
Getting in touch
The fastest way to reach us is the contact form, which lands in the office inbox and is checked through the working day. The phone line is staffed Monday to Friday between 8 in the morning and 6 at night, with a Saturday morning shift. Out of hours, leave a message and we will come back to you on the next working day.
Typical response times
Form enquiries: same business day. Phone messages: same business day or first thing the next morning. Site visits: most are scheduled within five working days. Urgent cases, particularly where a sale is at risk or a wall has moved suddenly, are usually fitted in sooner.
What to have ready
The first conversation goes faster if you have a few things to hand. The address of the property, including postcode. A rough date for when you first noticed the problem. Photos of any cracks, with a coin or a ruler in shot for scale. The name of your insurer if a claim is in mind. None of these are essential, and we will not turn you away without them, but they help.
What happens next
You will get a written acknowledgement within a few hours, with a name and a direct number for the person handling your enquiry. They stay with you through the next steps: site visit, written outline of findings, formal report if needed, and quote for any works. Nothing chargeable starts without your written sign-off.
Common questions
Will the first visit cost me anything? No, not for an outline conversation and a walk-around. A formal chartered engineer report is quoted up front before any survey work begins.
Can you talk to my insurer for me? Yes. With your written permission we deal with the loss adjuster directly and copy you in.
What if I am not happy with something? Tell us. The complaints procedure sets out exactly how it is handled.
How do I book a visit? Through the contact form, or via the appointment page.
Worried about a crack or a sinking floor?
Talk to a real Edinburgh subsidence specialist. We will tell you straight what is wrong and what it takes to fix it.
